Clunes Ceramic Award 2015 First Prize Increases to $10,000

Entries are now open for the 2015 Clunes Ceramic Award and this year the winning artist's work will attract a total prize money of $10,000.

“We encourage ceramicists Australia-wide to submit their work this year”.

The Clunes Ceramic Award is an acquisitive prize. In 2015, the winner of the $10,000 Award will be acquired by the Art Gallery of Ballarat.

The winning work of art is acquired in alternate years, by the Art Gallery of Ballarat and the Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum for their Permanent Collections. 

The People's Choice Award has also increased this year, to the value of $2,000. This award will be announced close to the conclusion of the exhibition.

Recognition Awards will be presented at the discretion of the judging panel and announced at the exhibition opening.

The Clunes Ceramic Award is a biennial event and was first held in 2009. This year the exhibition of works will be held from Saturday 19 September to Sunday 11 October 2015 at the Union Bank Arts Centre, Clunes.

The Clunes Ceramic Award is an initiative of Creative Clunes Inc. and is in partnership with the Art Gallery of Ballarat and the Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum.

This project is part of the State Government's Advancing Country Towns program to develop Clunes as a cultural and tourism destination.
